Like in 2024, we came out with a surplus this year. This money will be transfer to the 2026 budget to help cover higher electricity costs (increase of 4.9%) as of April 2026.
In the event where we would receive enough donations, we are looking into upgrading our server to bring it in this decade. The machine hosting FOSS Torrents was built in 2010 and has served us quite well.
Although, a new processor (currently only 4 cores/threads), at least 64 GB RAM, a 2.5 GBits Ethernet port would be critical to continue providing great support to the Open-Source community.
We will most likely not reach that ambitious goal until 2027.
Thank you so much to everyone that has contributed financially and actively to FOSS Torrents this year. Your help keeps the project well alive.
