risiOS is a Linux distribution based on Fedora Linux that aims to offer an amazing experience to its users.
risiOS ships with a few tools to help the user start quickly its journey in the Fedora world. It does inherite the GNOME desktop environment, features like Btrfs, Wayland, pipewire, and many more from its parent distribution: Fedora.
Web Apps are at the core of this distribution. The team has forked Linux Mint’s web app manager and it contains a store with loads of preset web apps to choose from. Security measures have been put in place to prevent the user from being redirected to malicious websites.
risiWelcome allows the user to install install drivers and codecs, setup flathub and RPMFusion, and find resources related to risiOS.
You can use risiTweaks to customize your theme, layout, GNOME Extensions and your risiScripts.
For those who are familiar with Arch Linux's AUR, you will be glad to hear that the team has released risiScript a scripting syntax that allows the user to download and install any software. Although, risiScripts are now limited to only one software. They can be used to install many softwares at once, making it perfect for quickly installing all your favourite applications on multiple machines. Those scripts are saved into text file thus making them easy to share with other users.
risiOS is also shipping a modified version of ZSH with features such as syntax highlighting, auto suggestions. Although, in order to keep ZSH light the team did not include a plugin manager or framework (but those can always be added by the user).
New Feature: Hybrid Torrents
Hybrid torrents support the BitTorrent V1 and V2 protocol. Its support is not well spread out yet so we recommend that you still use v1 (aka the "torrent" column).
Official Torrent created by FOSS Torrents in partnership with risiOS' team.
