LibreOffice is a free and open-source office suite. It uses the international standard OpenDocument file format (ODF) as it's native format to save documents. It also supports the file formats of most other major office suites (including Microsoft Office).
Notice: LibreOffice will drop support for 32 bits in version 6.3. More and more Linux distributions are dropping support for 32-bit builds. The pseudo-LTS version, LibreOffice 6.1, will continue to get updates for 32-bit Linux desktops for a little while.
The latest "fresh" version of LibreOffice is recommended for technology enthusiasts while the mature "still" version of LibreOffice is recommended for enterprises.
